Holy shit… moving fucking sucked. No let me reiterate, moving reeeeeeeeallllllllly fucking sucked. So did sleeping on a couch, so did moving everything by myself, so did getting rejected by Direct TV (because we dont have direct access to the Sun), so did one of my heavy boxes having the bottom fall out, and finally so did sleeping on the floor for like two days.
There are ton of other stuff that sucked, but that was probably the last worth whining about.
On top of my move in day being different every other day, I had zero time to write, zero time to edit articles, and zero time to myself.
When I finally did move in, it was half heartedly and after about a full week I finally got everything moved in.
I put everything on hold, my projects, my website, my writing, and my freelancing projects, it sucked… working as a freelance writer covering stories in South Orange County doesn’t bode well for your abilities when you are living in West Covina for two weeks.
Though while I was home I connected with an old friend or two, but for the most part hung out with my usual assortment of friends.
Finally being settled in I am ready to get back in the swing starting with the website. I plan on picking up a freelance story before the weekend, and was able to get a summer school class that will rightly occupy me for the entire month of July.
So now that everything seems to be falling into place I have also decided to start working on my fitness. I am more lethargic and lazy than I have ever been in life and now its sort of starting to bug me. So while I was being held captive(I kid mom) in West Covina I picked up some books on fitness in efforts to really educate myself about working out and nutrition. I picked up two books:
1. The 13-Week Running Program
2. The Body Sculpting Bible for Men
I have read both, and I actually am working on putting the diet together, and then shopping this weekend, followed by Day One of this whole new outlook starting Sunday or most likely Monday. The goal is to go at this for at least six months before I make a long term decision. Obviously my goals are to improve my fitness, strength, and endurance and if after six months there is evidence of that I will easily stick to this routine.
Also after spending sometime with a good friend of mine, she filled me in on how she keeps a daily planner. At first I thought “isn’t is hard to pull out a planner and write stuff down, I don’t have a purse.” Then over the weekend I did some thinking and found I am actually more productive when I set myself on a schedule. So after further thinking I decided to try for a month to schedule my entire life and fill in the gaps with writing, working out, or reading.
I mean I am prepared to be overwhelmed with this, and with working out I can finally have an outlet for any stress that might come up.
I plan to take my measurements, before pictures, and have my diet created all this by Saturday. Then its one day at a time, I also have another idea aside from writing I am working on that I am super excited about and once that gains some momentum I will be doing lots of talking about that…. I hope everyone has a good summer and please check out www.thesportsbalcony.com till then, see you all on the track and at the gym.
I’m out,
Mark
